The most fucked up sentence ever.
And today we burn it down.
We refuse to play by rules written by a $500+ billion global beauty industry that feeds on our self-loathing and insecurities and profits from our fear of becoming invisible.
We’re breaking up with the lie that our worth diminishes with each birthday candle. We’re here for the rebellion. So let’s raise our reading glasses like battle axes on society’s ridiculous beauty standards.
We’re not the beauty police. Want to dye your hair, and get botox, and fillers? Go for it. We sure as hell do!
All we’re asking is for you to peel it back – are you making these choices because they spark confidence, or because you’re terrified of being dismissed as irrelevant?
The rebellion isn’t about the procedures – it’s about the pressure. What’s driving your decisions? There’s a massive difference between ‘I love how this makes me feel’ and ‘I can’t let anyone see me age.’
We’re team Botox AND team gray hair. We’re team fillers AND team crow’s feet. The point isn’t what you choose – it’s that YOU get to choose.
You do you, beautifully and unapologetically. Just like these incredibly inspiring women who are refusing to bow to society’s impossible beauty standards….

Andrea Claire (54)
She’s spent over three decades as a makeup artist and hairstylist working red carpets, celebrity shoots, and TV makeovers – and she’s done buying into the bullshit. In her podcast “The F*ck You 50s,” this rebel calls out the double standards, ageism, gray hair shamers, and anti-aging scams the beauty world sells to women. Our conversation with her is bad ass!

Pamela Anderson (58)
She went from surgically-enhanced, hyper-sexualized ’90s icon to showing up makeup-free at Paris Fashion Week – and absolutely broke the internet. No press tours, no explanations, just her natural face while people lost their shit. The social media hysteria proves just how screwed up our beauty standards are. Watch this Baywatch babe as she ages on her own damn terms.

Viola Davis (59)
is aging like the queen she is. In this Harper’s Bazaar video she boldly declares “Personal beauty is defined by being absolutely comfortable and accepting who you are.” She goes on to say that finding confidence wasn’t about her outward appearance, rather the internal work she did to recognize “I am who I am. It’s not going to change. And that’s enough.” Words to live by.

Keira Knightly (40)
is revolutionizing Hollywood simply by letting her face move. In an industry of frozen, airbrushed faces that can barely form expressions, she’s out there with actual crow’s feet and lines that move when she smiles. She’s rejected the narrative that aging is shameful, saying “I’m going to do what I do and feel fine about it.” True Beauty.
Natural, enhanced, or somewhere in between – there’s no wrong way to age when you’re doing it on your terms. These women inspire us not because of what they chose, but because they chose fearlessly.
You do you, and own it, girl. See you next Thursday.
xoxo,
Mikelle & Michelle
