WWDPD: What Would Dr. Premji Do?

Dr. Shafeena Premji

This week our podcast featured an incredible human who has been doing incredible things for women’s midlife health since long before it was cool. Her credentials include:

  • Menopause care leader & menopause certified since 2015
  • 1st set foot in a gym at 41 to ‘walk the talk’ for her patients
  • Did her fist pull-up at 43
  • Tireless women’s health advocate
  • Board member of the Canadian Menopause Society
  • Medical Advisory Board, Menopause Foundation of Canada
  • Founder & Medical Director of 3 women’s health-focused clinics
  • Delivers babies – in her spare time, LOL
  • Oh, and also has two of her own.

To find out more about Dr. Shafeena Premji and and why our new mantra is WWDPD: What Would Dr. Premji Do? Check out what we’ve curated below.

Listen To This:

Dr. Shafeena Premji

When someone has been practicing menopause care for this long, you listen. Don’t miss our chat with this doc who walks the talk, advocates for better, and has helped thousands of women feel like themselves again.

Learn About This:

Walking The Talk

In 2023, Dr. Premji decided that if she was advising her clients to lift weights she needed to also be lifting weights. And so she set foot in a gym for the 1st time in her life. 2 weeks ago she did her very first pull-up

Laugh:

Puzzle vs. Pull-up

The same day that Dr. Premji posted a video of herself doing her 1st pull-up, we posted a video of Mikelle doing a puzzle. 😂

And now Mikelle has committed to Dr. Premji, and the internet, that she’ll learn to do a pull-up.

What Matters Most

According to Adam Grant, the best way to inspire confidence is to consistently walk our talk. Thank you, Dr. Premji for showing us what is possible when we consistently show up for others, and for ourselves.

🤩🙏

We hope you’re inspired to show up for yourself.

Now that you understand why we’re fan-girling, we hope you’re inspired to pick the next thing you’re going to do to show up for yourself.

Maybe it’s hitting the gym or going for a walk. It could be asking for the care and support you deserve. You might ask your employer to consider adding menopause support to your company’s benefit plan.

Or maybe you need to sit down and work on a puzzle. 😉

Whatever’s on your to-do list this week, make sure you’re at the top of it.

See you next Thursday!

xoxo,

Mikelle & Michelle
